Clinic Teaches How to Save Money on Utility, Phone Bills
We all know utility bills can get pretty steep during these hot summer months, but there are ways to save a few pennies.
Folks in Lincoln learned how to cut down their utility and phone bills Wednesday afternoon at a free consumer clinic.
Among the groups there to help were AARP, the Attorney General's Office, and the Citizens Utility Board, all to help educate people on how to protect yourself from fraud and how to save a few extra bucks.
"We don't ever like to promise people we're going to save them money, but more often that not, we do. When it comes to phone bills, we can save people on average, $30-40 a month," said Rajiv Ravulapati, a representative with the Citizens Utility Board.
As far as energy bills go, they recommend taking a look at an energy saving program, because the best way to save money is to make sure you're energy efficient. If you pay a utility bill, they can help you, too. Click here for a link to their site.
