Could Govt. Shutdown Impact Food Bank?
From Washington to Springfield, there's growing concern a continuing government shut down could impact the Central Illinois Foodbank.
Nearly 20 percent of food at the food bank comes from the United States Department of Agriculture. The Central Illinois Food Bank says it's a little too soon to tell. A prolonged shutdown, however, would have an impact on their partner agencies who are providing food.
"Here in the Springfield area, that would be places like the St. John's Breadline, Kumler Outreach Ministries, St. Martin de Pores," Kaleigh Moore from the Foodbank said. "We have about 25 different agencies we work with in Sangamon County."
