Decatur Doctor Arrested for Forgery
A doctor in Decatur is accused of forging prescriptions for pain pills and other drugs.
Dr. Trevor Lineberry, 41, is facing felony charges of forgery, burglary, and possession of a controlled substance.
Prosecutors believe Lineberry forged the signature of other doctors for prescriptions for people who are not his patients. They allege he then filled the prescriptions for his personal use.
According to the Macon County State's Attorney's office, Lineberry admitted to forging the prescriptions when he was arrested, and said he is addicted to prescription painkillers.
Online records show Lineberry is an OB/GYN and has affiliations with several Illinois hospitals, including Decatur Memorial Hospital.
