Quinn Announces $9 Million Airport Investment
They say it's a $9 million investment that will create hundreds of jobs, improve 19 Illinois airports, and increase public safety. Today, Gov. Pat Quinn and IDOT Secretary Ann Schneider announced details of the plan.
Locally, the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport will receive $830,000 to rehab the Charlie ramp T-hangar taxi lanes.
The wide variety of improvement projects will help airports rehab main terminals, taxiways, aircraft parking ramps, entrance roads, and major parking lots.
The program is funded by $7.3 million from Quinn's Illinois Jobs Now capital program, and a local match of $1.6 million.
