Ptacek Chosen As Jacksonville Superintendent
Jacksonville has a new school superintendent. Steve Ptacek was chosen from a pool of 28 applicants. He signed a performance-based contract with the Jacksonville Board of Education. It's a three-year deal that will pay him a $140,000 salary per year.
As part of the deal, the school board will establish target goals on a yearly basis. Ptacek will have to meet those goals. If he doesn't, the board can fire him.
