Zoo Invites Public to Name Bald Eagle
The Henson Robinson Zoo has acquired a female bald eagle--and they want you to help name it.
The bird, which is less than two years old, was rescued from the wild following an injury that resulted in the loss of her right eye. The injury would prevent her from surviving in the wild.
The eagle joins a 16-year-old male bald eagle, Freedom, who also sustained an injury in the wild and was unable to be released.
Visitors are invited to submit name suggestions in person during the zoo's Holiday Lights at the Zoo celebration, and zoo staff will select a name from the submissions.
Holiday Lights at the Zoo runs December 7-23 from 5-8 p.m. each evening. Admission is $3.25 for adults and $2 for children.
