Gas Prices On the Rise
People are out traveling and finding issues with gas prices.
"They're high everywhere. They're high in Champaign, they're high here," says Christy Brinkley of Champaign. She finds herself shoveling out more money on fuel for work.
The price jump makes it hard for her to travel from Champaign to Virginia and Springfield three times a week. Brinkley continued to say, "I have to travel by car and they're very very high, so a lot of my salary goes toward paying for gas."
Gas has went up across the country, the national average for a gallon of gasoline is 3-78. People living in California are being hit the hardest with prices coming close to six dollars for one gallon. AAA reports, "We've had about six consecutive weeks of setting new all time daily high prices. The national average stands at 3 dollars and 79 cents per gallon."
The prices continue to rise and fall- - leaving many motorists frustrated in central Illinois. "I think it's really ridiculous. One day it's 20 cents less and the very next morning or the next afternoon, its 20 cents more," Christy Brinkley complained.
Some drivers are finding ways to pinch their pennies and save on gas prices.
"Maybe cut one meal a day, I'm kidding, but you know less traveling if you don't really have to go there. We're car pooling right now, i got what four kids with me. So it's a little cheaper," said Cris Gassmann from St. Louis.
