Who Can Enter

(a). To be eligible to participate in this contest, nominators must be Illinois residents who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the WICS-TV viewing area. Nominees must be Illinois residents who are high school students and reside in the WICS-TV viewing area.
(b) Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Acquisition IV, Inc. and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WICS-TV (the “Station”), WICD-TV, United Brotherhood of Carperteners and Joiners of America, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one winner per household.

How to Enter

(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. A nominator can make more than one nomination, but not duplicate a nomination for the same nominee.
(b) To enter, mail a letter explaining why you think the athlete deserves to be the “Athlete of the Week.” Include your name, address, phone number, and relationship to the athlete. Also include the athlete’s name, address, phone number and birth date. Mail the letter to WICS-TV, 2680 East Cook Street, Springfield, Illinois 62703. You can also email the Sports Department at sports@wics.com to nominate an athlete.
(c) The Contest starts on August 26, 2007 and will run weekly until such date the Station determines in its sole and absolute discretion.
(d) All eligible nominations will be reviewed by Station personnel and shall be judged by content in the letter.
(e) 1 weekly winner will be selected based on criteria set forth in subsection (d) above during the academic school year. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected mail, server availability, any other computer or electronic malfunction, or for printing errors.
(f) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.

The Prize(s)

(a) 1 weekly winner will be selected. Each winner will be featured on a short segment shown on the Station’s Sunday 10 P.M. Newscast. The value of the prize cannout be determned.
(b) Winners will be notified by phone. Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within days of notification. If a winner is a minor, then the winner’s parents or guardian must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility before the winner receives his or her prize.
(c) Sinclair Acquisition IV, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
(d) Sinclair Acquisition IV, Inc, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
(e) In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Acquisition IV, Inc, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous

(a) Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
(b) Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WICS-TV, 2680 East Cook Street, Springfield, Illinois 62703 and on the Station’s website at www.wics.com. A list of winners are available at WICS-TV, 2680 East Cook Street, Springfield, Illinois 62703.
(c) This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Acquisition IV, Inc; and United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
(d) Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
(e) Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
