Libby White
WICS Reporter
Libby is the Springfield City Reporter, fill-in anchor, and also covers the Sangamon County Board.
Libby comes to ABC NewsChannel 20 from KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she was the station's "Sunrise" show reporter. In 2005, Libby went to Biloxi, Mississippi, to cover Hurricane Katrina. A few weeks later, Southwest Louisiana had a major hurricane of its own, Hurricane Rita. Libby and the KPLC staff rode out Hurricane Rita, reporting around the clock from a "make shift" studio at a Lake Charles Hospital. Cameron Parish was demolished by Hurricane Rita and Libby spent the next year reporting on their recovery.
Before working at KPLC, White worked at KBTV in Beaumont, Texas, as a producer and fill-in reporter. She graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with a degree in Mass Communications - Go Cowboys! She is a native Louisiana girl, so try not to give her too hard of a time for saying "y'all"!
In her free time, Libby enjoys hanging out with her dog, Phoebe, and cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.
