Catie Sheehan
WICS Reporter
Catie Sheehan began delivering the news to Central Illinois at the age of 12... as a newspaper carrier! It was then she developed her passion and dedication to news. Catie was born and raised right here in Springfield. She enjoys working in her hometown where she is surrounded by many friends and a huge family. "My grandma calls me everyday to critique my reports." Catie is very passionate about covering the issues that are important to the community she has been a part of for so long.
She went to high school at Sacred Heart-Griffin and grade school at Blessed Sacrament. Catie graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She got her start in the broadcast business in college while working for KOMU. Before coming to WICS, Catie worked as a Springfield reporter for WCIA/WCFN. She has used her expertise to cover everything from legislation at the Illinois Statehouse, to pothole problems in the Capital City.
When Catie has time to spare, she enjoys eating sushi, working out, bargain shopping, trying to learn how to cook, reading books but not finishing them and decorating her home. Email your story ideas to Catie at csheehan@wics.com.
