Marianne Manko
WICS Anchor / Reporter
Marianne Manko joined the WICS news team in April, 2008 as an Anchor/Reporter. You'll find her alongside Jerry Lambert at 10pm. Marianne brings more than 25 years of broadcast experience and expertise to WICS. A graduate of the University of Akron in Ohio, Marianne worked at several stations in Orlando in a variety of roles... from reporter to weather anchor. After 14 years of working in news Marianne took a break, accepting a job as a National TV Shopping Host. "It was quite a departure to say the least! But it didn't take long to realize it wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. I missed news. I missed making a difference."
Marianne returned to news as an Anchor/Reporter at a station in Brownsville, Texas. There she covered stories on border violence, security and immigration. She also did freelance work in the state capital of Austin. Now, she's excited to bring her variety of experience to Central Illinois. She says the return to the Midwest feels like she's coming home, and she's eager to connect with the issues and people of the area. When she's not at work, Marianne enjoys volunteering for a worthy cause... especially with The United Way and the American Cancer Society. She remains an active member of The National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
