Illinois State Fair Text 2 Win Rules
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be Illinois residents who are 18 years of age or older, reside in the WICS-TV viewing area and have a text capable device.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television of Illinois, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast stations WICS-TV (the Station), WICD, WRSP, WBUI, The Illinois Department of Agriculture, The Illinois State Fair, American Idol Live, Hunter Hayes/Sam Hunt/ Dan + Shay, Emblem3/MKTO/Midnight Red, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term immediate families includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one winner per household if more than one winner per contest.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase necessary. One entry per person per weekday (Monday through Friday). Authorized account holder of the mobile telephone number associated with the entry is considered the entrant.
(b) Weekdays between July 15 and July 25, 2014 viewers will be asked to watch the ABC Newschannel 20 Nightside 10pm newscast on channel 20 to obtain the daily keyword. Then, to enter, text the keyword to short code 43817. Text HELP to 43817 for help. Text STOP to 43817 to cancel. Standard text messaging rates apply to all text message entries sent. By entering, entrants consent to and will receive up to 9 messages (one message per daily entry) relating to this contest, from an automated system. Consent is not required to buy goods and services. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted.
(c) The contest starts on July 15, 2014, and ends on July 25, 2014 (the Contest Period). Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. CDT each weekday during the Contest Period to qualify for the drawing the following weekday. The Station is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected entries, server unavailability, computer, or any other electronic malfunction, or if text message is not received.
(d) There will be a total of eleven (11) winners, as follows: one (1) winner will be selected by random drawing from among valid entries received each weekday between July 15 and July 24, 2014, and three (3) winners will be selected by random drawing from among valid entries received on July 25, 2014. Remaining valid entries will not carry over to the next weekday drawing.
(e) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Stations and will not be acknowledged or returned.
1. Eleven (11) winners will receive one prize as determined by the Station at the time of each drawing as follows: two (2) winners will receive one (1) state fair mega pass valued at $65.00 each; one (1) Winner will receive two (2) Track tickets to the American Idol Live concert on August 8, 2014, valued at $78.00; one (1) winner will receive two (2) Track tickets to Hunter Hayes/Sam Hunt/ Dan + Shay concert on August 13, 2014, valued at $78.00; one (1) winner will receive two (2) tickets to the state fair quarter midget races valued at $20.00; one (1) winner will receive two (2) Track tickets to the Emblem3/ MKTO/ Midnight Red concert on August 14, 2014, valued at $50.00; one (1) winner will receive two (2) tickets to the state fair demolition boat races valued at $20.00; one (1) winner will receive two (2) tickets to the state fair demolition derby valued at $30.00; and three (3) winners will receive two (2) tickets to the state fair Truck and Tractor Pull valued at $10.00 each. The prizes are valid only for the date specified on the ticket. The Station and sponsors are not responsible if the fair, or any concert or event is closed, canceled, or postponed.
2. Winners will be notified by phone. Before claiming prizes, winners must provide their correct name, address and telephone number to Station at the time of notification. Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within 2 days of notification at the time each winner claims his/her prize in person at the Station. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
3. If a winner cannot be notified within 2 days, or does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, then time permitting, the prize may be awarded to an alternate winner randomly selected from among remaining valid entries.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of the Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
6. Only one prize will be awarded per household.
7. Sinclair Television of Illinois, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
8. Sinclair Television of Illinois, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Television of Illinois, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

1. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries correct received each weekday for each keyword.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WICS-TV, 2680 East Cook Street, Springfield, Illinois 62703 and on the Stations websites at www.wics.com
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to WICS-TV, 2680 East Cook Street, Springfield, Illinois 62703 by August 31, 2014.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. The Station, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television of Illinois, LLC, American Idol Live, The Illinois Department of Agriculture and The Illinois State Fair accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information. Station is not responsible for any computer or electronic malfunction, server unavailability, technological glitch, or human error relating to this contest and/or the use of short-code.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
